Ten years from now, I’d like to have my career and making money. I want to be a successful social worker.

Parent
I would like to be a parent that is more like a friend. I love the relationship I have with my mom. She is my best friend and I don’t hide any secrets from her.
Misconception about me
The biggest misconception people have about me is that I am mean. I am a very shy person and I guess I naturally have a face that makes me appear mad, but I promise you I’m not.
A lot of my friends tell me they were scared to approach me but are glad they did or I did because I am actually a pretty outgoing person.
Something that makes me angry
Something that makes me angry are those videos of the young children who were attacking street vendors. It makes me furious because these people are just trying to earn a living because they receive no government assistance. They aren’t robbing people and much less threatening them in any way.
What makes my blood boil even more is the people who want to make it a racial war or issue. Many of the videos going viral involve young black men attacking Latinx vendors by robbing, slapping, or ridiculing them. I hate this so much, but it doesn’t reflect on the entire black community. There are always going to be a couple bad people despite their race. I hate when people try to divide us. We are one human race. Even if we don’t love each other we should all have some type of respect for one another.
Someone I admire
Someone I admire is my mom. My mom is the strongest person I know. My mom came to the United States alone after emigrating from Mexico and did so to help out my grandparents financially who were still in Mexico. My mom set a good example for her siblings. She pursued the American dream and conquered her dreams. My mom got injured from her warehouse job, but she never let her disability be an issue or much less an excuse. Before she met my dad, she was a single mother doing all she could to provide for her children. My mom is my hero. There’s nothing to not like about her.

A time I was really frightened was when I went to Knott’s Berry Farm for the first time. This day I had gone with my cousins for my smaller cousins birthday. We had a great day to say the least. But I was still super scared because I hadn’t been on such big roller coasters before. This did change though, since now I don’t ever wanna leave six flags. But I remember my first time getting on those roller coasters and feeling like I was going to have a heart attack. This was no joke, I almost had an anxiety attack and that’s pretty crazy since I’m basically fearless now, but back then it was my first time so of course I was feeling some type of way. This was one of the only times I was scared and it will stay in my mind ever since because I had never felt that way before. I remember the fear I felt when I sat down on the seat and thinking this would be a version of Final Destination. That always happens when I get on a roller coaster or go to an amusement park

Throughout my childhood, starting at about 6 years old til the age of 10, I was obsessed with Hannah Montana. This meant I had a significant amount of her merchandise. In the second grade, I owned several shirts and backpacks from her brand. Then, one day I bought some pair of shoes from K-mart that I loved. They were Hannah Montana shoes that lit up and sang a song when you pressed a button on the shoes. I was eager to take them to school and I did. Everyone loved my shoes, my friends envied me, and I wanted them to all buy a pair of their own. My shoes were the hot topic at recess and they thought it was genius that my shoes sang her songs. Everything seemed great. Everyone was obsessed with my shoes—- except my teacher. When we came back in the room from recess, we started learning Math. On the projector, Ms.Behrens showed us multiplication. Suddenly, my shoes started playing the Hannah Montana shoes and everyone, including myself, was shocked. The music was only supposed to play when I pressed the button on my shoes, but they malfunctioned and started playing. At this point, Ms.Behrens totally lost her shit. She put her pen down and began attacking her students asking who had a cell phone in the class. We were only in second grade and flip phones were the jazz, which none of us seemed to have. Everyone was confused. The sound was coming from my table, so my classmates said it was me.

The place I miss the most is where my father grew up: Ipazoltic, Jalisco or El Ipa for short. El Ipa is a small ranch from the municipio of San Martin de Hidalgo, Jalisco. The ranch’s population is very low, so everyone basically knows everyone. The folks there are very kind, friendly, and helpful. There is a lot of respect there for people— for humanity, which is what I probably miss the most, no judgment. Some other things I miss are the rocky roads, green scenery, animals, food, my grandparents house, and just the culture overall. I miss my grandparents house terribly. To get to my grandparents house, one must climb up a small hill located right after their red gate. When climbing up the small hill, one can see all of the green scenery along with the milpa ready to grow, the beautiful flowers blossoming, and some guamuchiles as well as the sirwelas on the trees with a few having already fell to the ground. Once you enter another gate, but this one white, we are first introduced to my grandfathers driveway leading up to his house. Before entering my grandparents home, on the right side we can see their fireplace and wood stacked up ready to be used. Their fireplace was used to cook, warm up fresh made maíz tortillas, or warm up the water for us to bathe.
20 Minute Blog Journal – A Funny Story
Just yesterday I laughed really hard at this meme I saw on my phone. The meme consisted of two girls. One girl was drunk; the other one was not. In the video, the sober friend is trying to help her drunk friend get to bed, while the drunk friend is resisting and eating pizza. As the girl becomes more annoyed with her friend who’s trying to help her, she decides to slap her friend with the pizza really hard. After this happened, the girl with the pizza still in hands begins to laugh and apologize as she tries to now comfort her friend and go to bed. The friend decides to laugh about it as well even though her face was slightly red from the smack. As soon as I seen this, I felt like I was about to die of laughter. I found this hilarious firstly because I never thought a slice of pizza could hurt someone this bad. I find food comforting and never thought it could hurt someone to this extent. I once heard that humans hurting themselves is one of the things humans find the funniest, which I find to be true. This is why “America’s Funniest Home Videos” was such a success, but now these videos are extremely accessible like how I found this video on my phone. This isn’t only applicable online, but in real life too. For example, at least in my age range, if a friend trips and falls, we laugh first before helping them up if the injury was not a severe one. I also laughed because this made me reflect on life and the accuracy of one simply funny meme. One friend was trying to help another and she was payed unjustly for her kind deed. This is something I find to be true, which is why I don’t try to help drunk friends anymore. Haha! Just kidding, but still the friend is not mad at her by the end and continues to help her, which is what I find to be a true friend!
